Ombre Vases

What you will need:

*Two different colored spray paints

*Vase(s)

These vases, given to me by a friend, are not my style. So, instead of trashing them or handing them off to someone else.... again. We decided to give them a little quick and easy makeover. To start off with, clean your vase(s) (or whatever your planing to spray paint).

Find a ventilated area and cover any surface near were you will be painting. I simply just laid a trash bag on my porch railing! Then begin spraying the whole vase with your darkest spray paint first. This will help cover designs in the vase easier.
*** Hold your can at least eight inches from your object to prevent dripping***

Along the bottom or top begin spraying in even streaks. Further up or down the object, begin lightly "dusting" the paint on until you have a smooth transition between colors. To achieve dusting pull your can back further and spray lighter streaks. I, personally, like to pick colors with two different textures. Like with these vases; one smooth gloss texture and one rough matte texture.

Last but not least if you spray painted outside, like me, then bring them in!!! Bugs and other trash are just waiting to get stuck in your paint! Actually I had a gnat to get stuck on one before I could even get them in! Place them on wax paper to make sure they don't stick to your counter tops.
